FUTUR FESTIVAL arrives at Parque Fundidora, a place whose history runs deeply parallel to the festival's original home in Turin. Like Parco Dora — where Kappa FuturFestival turned a former industrial landscape into one of the most recognizable stages in contemporary electronic music — Fundidora is the reinvention of industrial land as a public, cultural and natural space.
Parque Fundidora stands on the grounds of the former Compañía Fundidora de Fierro y Acero de Monterrey, founded in 1900 and active until 1986. Today its old industrial structures share the site with a 144-hectare urban park, green areas and spaces devoted to culture, entertainment and community. The site is also recognized by INAH as a Site Museum of Industrial Archaeology.
In Turin, Parco Dora proved that a former industrial landscape could become the stage for a new generation of culture. In Monterrey, Fundidora offers that same possibility, rooted in a deeply local identity: a place where the city's industrial history meets its present and its future.
At Fundidora, FUTUR FESTIVAL MÉXICO is looking for the Mexican equivalent of what makes Parco Dora special: a space built on the past, but transformed for the future.
